Elijah Mogoli (b.1998 Brooklyn, New York) is an African American photographer of both Grenadian and Nigerian Igbo descent based in NYC. He first got into photography in July of 2019 when he discovered a Polaroid SX-70 as a free giveaway on someones stoop in Brooklyn heights. After finding that camera he began to really get curious about analogue process and began to start shooting with a 35mm camera using color film. Now today he primarily focuses on shooting black and white film which he develops himself at home. That same year his love for documentary photography blossomed when he first traveled to Ghana. After that his love for traveling and seeking the the intimate moments throughout the world blossomed. in May of 2021 he traveled back to his native country of Grenada to document his family and island.
Elijah's work is heavily influenced by photographer such as Eli Reed, Ming Smith, and Gordon Parks.
